PRODUCT CLUB is an effort to make LA’s product scene better. It’s for companies and individuals who are building early-stage products. We’re not interested in incubating businesses. We think worrying about pitch decks and spreadsheets leads to building crappy products. Revenue models are important, but they should come later.
We give PRODUCT CLUB members free office space for three months. In return, they pledge to build cool stuff and improve LA’s product scene. We hold weekly club meetings where members share their progress with the group and solicit opinions on what they’ve built. We also invite great product builders to share what they’ve learned with PRODUCT CLUB. By the end of the three month session, each member should have a completed product — and hopefully something good enough to develop further.
We’re doing this because we have a theory:
+ creative support
+ a community of your peers
+ the willful ignorance of business models
= a better product culture.
That’s pretty much it. We’re not an incubator. We’re not a co-working space. We don’t take any cash or equity. We’re a place to nurture the creation of products.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
We’re interested in engineers, designers, artists and product people. Ideal candidates have shipped something previously.
Your team should be in the early product phase.
WHO SHOULDN’T APPLY
People interested in adtech and ecommerce: sorry, but stick to Silicon Beach. If you’re an “idea guy”: come back when you’re not.
